Delivery
Fabrics are posted out within 48 hours using the standard Royal Mail first class service. Any orders received after 2pm on a Thursday or on a Friday/Saturday/Sunday will be posted the following Monday.
UK Postage
Postage is calculated using the weight of the fabric/size of the parcel plus other packaging costs. Postage costs are calculated at the checkout and you can see what they are before you pay. We always do our best to get fabric to you as cheaply as possible. We currently have FREE UK postage offer for orders over £50.

Postage up to 500g (approx 2.5m) will be £2.95
501g to 1kg (approx 5m) will be £4.95
1kg to 2kg (approx 10m) will be £5.95
Parcels up to 10kg £7.99

The Royal Mail is usually very reliable but occasionally parcels do get delayed or lost. If you have not received your parcel within 10 working days, please contact us to discuss and we will do our best to replace or refund the order. We get a proof of posting whenever possible from the post office when parcels are sent.
Europe/Worldwide
We are happy to post to countries in the European Union and other countries Worldwide but can not be held responsible for any parcels that go astray in the postal system. We now use a tracked international service to prevent such problems. You can get an estimate of the international shipping costs based on the weight of the fabrics at the checkout before you pay. We may also use a courier service if we feel this may be cheaper or quicker.
IMPORTANT - CUSTOMS CHARGES - EU & Worldwide
Since Jan 2021 EU countries outside of the UK will now charge import duty/VAT/customs handling fees on any fabric posted from the UK as with other countries worldwide. These charges vary from country to country. Please note that Sew Scrumptious Fabrics is NOT responsible for the payment of these charges and you may be expected to pay them on delivery of the fabric. We suggest that you investigate these charges before ordering.
What is a Fat Quarter?
One of the most asked questions is 'What is a fat quarter?' Its simply a metre of fabric cut into 4 giving 4 smaller pieces of fabric each measuring 56cm x 50cm. They are used by quilters a lot as it gives them the opportunity to buy lots of different smaller pieces of fabric for their quilts. They are also great for smaller projects. For dressmakers who tend to buy by the metre you just need to add 4 units of fabric to your cart to get a metre of fabric. We always send fabric as a continuous piece if more than one unit is ordered. Please see below for more info.
Samples
We offer a free sample service and will send out up to 8 free samples of fabrics. You will just be charged for postage at £1.75. Simply order through the website here. Please note that during very busy periods this service may not be available.
Payment Methods
You can pay using the following payment methods:
PayPal - You do not need to have a PayPal account to pay by PayPal and can use both debit or credit cards or your PayPal balance.
Stripe - You can pay by credit card using Stripe.
VAT
We are a UK VAT registered company, our VAT number is: 363 8997 35. All prices shown on our website are inclusive of the current UK VAT of 20%.
Fabric Measurements
Our fabrics are generally sold by the fat quarter (1 unit) but larger amounts are always sent as one continuous piece of fabric. (The only exceptions are border prints and jersey fabrics which are sold by the half metre. This will be specified in the item description).
1 unit = 1 FQ = 56cm x 50cm
2 units = Half Metre = 112cm x 50cm
3 units = 112cm x 75cm
4 units = 1 Metre = 112cm x 100cm
5 units = 112cm x 125cm
6 units = 1.5 Metres = 112cm x 150cm
7 units = 112cm x 175cm
8 units = 2 Metres = 112cm x 200cm
Washing
We recommend that all fabrics are washed before use to prevent shrinkage. Fabrics can be washed at 30 degrees
What is GOTS Certification?
The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is recognised as the world's leading processing standard for textiles made from organic fibres. It defines high-level environmental criteria along the entire organic textiles supply chain and requires compliance with social criteria as well.
'Licenced' Fabrics
Some of our fabrics are licenced which means that you cannot use them for commercial use. You can make products for yourself but not to sell. These are fabrics usually featuring films or books e.g Star Wars, Marvel or Harry Potter. We will usually specify on individual products if fabrics are licenced. It will also usually say on the selvage of the fabric.
